Series description:

Artworks Series.

I am a Spanish/Indigenous artist who suffers from schizophrenia, OCD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, anxiety and depression which affects my creative process. The making of art is conversely an object of obsession and a vehicle that shows my peripatetic attention – I shift from drawing to arranging objects to photography and back to drawing. Regardless, they all have connecting themes of individuality, materialism, vanity, and humor. Through these books you can get an idea of who I am as an artist, what I want to make, what I’m trying to say with or without words.
Each book contains specific artworks, and does not repeat the same artwork in another book in the series. The Artist loves to create, and has archived his works. And now is showcasing his work in a way that is like another form of story telling. His artworks are available for sale on his website. The collection of books is another form of owning his artworks, at an understandable price.
For a signed copy, you can contact the artist from his personal website and he will be willing to work with you on getting that. As his artworks continue to appreciate in value, your signed copy will too.
The first book (43 selected artworks & 43 connected personal sayings)in the series is titled “The Whispers”, which is a collection of sketchbook drawings I’ve made. These are not all my sketchbook drawings, but some selected pieces from sketchbooks over the past 5 years or so.
The second book (86 selected artworks) in the series “Not Quite Ready For My Jesus Phase” is a series of photographs and documentation of installations by photos.
the third book (94 selected artworks) in the series “Draw Me In The Fountain Of Youth” contains a variety of gregory,Texas’s Last Southern Belle’s Artwork that…have a vibe of youth, angst, and teenage rebellion.

Sophisticated Adult Coloring Books Series:

This body of work explores the male nude. The drawings exist by my
relationship with technology, moving towards the future and escaping the mutations of the past. I
don’t see nude muscular men in my daily life, although I wish I did. I subside my fantasy by
creating the drawings. When I see a muscular man I feel safe and a feeling of comfort, depending
on the size of his muscles. These drawings reference Robert Mapplethorpe, Tom of Finland, and
the ancient male nude statues in Rome. Although their approach to the male nude is different
from mine, with my focal point on line. I see the commonality as showing the beauty
of the naked male figure.I believe that this entire body of work provides a spectacle for the viewer and allows them to respond with humor, shock, penis envy, appreciation, questions, thoughtfulness and compassion.
I don’t mean to sound pretentious, but I think of these books as a form of interactive Artworks. Times have changed, people don’t carve naked men out of marble to leave the public in awe. I considered this body of work as a reinvention of that, for today’s times. Some might find it Vulgar, but Vulgarity is very much part of the culture now, thus making this artwork modern and chic. I have my personal drawings of these images(plus more), but colored. I had the idea to distribute these artworks in some way and perhaps in a gallery. With luck, I shared a dozen of these images on hand made pepper I created myself, to a respectable group of young university women who instantly fell in love and wanted me to create several of these coloring books then give them out in a gallery as a type of performance art where the viewer gets to keep something physical from the experience. So I do have a deep respect and appreciation for those women who gave me that push I needed, lit that fire inside me. And in return, I can be an advocate, a performer, an artist, an author, a voice! For not just feminism and equality in these times, but something new that can try to make waves that travel through the universe for a better tomorrow…even starting with an object like this. It could be liberating, art collecting, a conversation piece. But between me and you, I don’t take myself too seriously. I don’t want to be a bore. I may be serious, but nobody has to know about it. So I present this to you, with hopes that you not only smile, but gain something more out of it as well.
